New Endowed Fund Honors Todd Stevens’ Legacy and Service

Todd D. Stevens

Former president and CEO Todd D. Stevens

As Mary Bird Perkins enters a new era with its CEO transition, the Cancer Center and the Foundation board members joined to establish the President’s Endowment Fund, in honor of  Todd D. Stevens The endowed fund recognizes Stevens’ 23 years of dedication and service to the Cancer Center.

His transformational leadership elevated Mary Bird Perkins to Louisiana’s leading cancer care organization, first envisioning and then building and assembling a team of talented professionals who have established programs focused on advancing patient care, research, education and cancer outreach.

Stevens’ fundamental belief that everyone should have local access to high-quality cancer care has been the catalyst for Mary Bird Perkins’ efforts to advance cancer care throughout the Gulf South.

Stevens will transition his time to concentrate on strategic business development and growth opportunities to advance Mary Bird Perkins’ mission across its regional network. This fund will provide Stevens with the ability to direct resources to areas of significant impact as he transitions to his new role, and allow his leadership and legacy to live on in perpetuity.

During Stevens’ tenure as CEO, he oversaw the establishment of the Cancer Center’s Foundation with the express purpose of helping to secure the future of cancer care. Ensuring that our community continues to have access to the most advanced, leading-edge cancer care available has been a priority of Stevens, and that vision of philanthropic support will continue under the leadership of President and CEO Jonas Fontenot, Ph.D., M.B.A.
